A Tour of Our Adopted Hometown Tampa, FL

As Julie and I have been escaping the winter of 2018/2019 in Tampa we thought we should give you a tour of everything that we have been doing while in the city. I have some deep connections to Tampa going to college here from 2002-2006 and have been coming back 2-3 times every year to either see friends still in the city or to simply get out of the northeast winter. That being said though the Tampa of today is drastically different from the city of my college days. New restaurants, shops, parks, walking paths and even downtown skyscrapers have been built. Needless to say we love what the city has become. To make it a bit easier to check out some of the places that we go in the video below are links directly to the neighborhoods/attractions so you too can visit while in Tampa.

Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park – Downtown Tampa’s largest park

Sparkman Wharf – Outdoor dining and drinks in the Channelside District

Amalie Arena – NHL Hockey, Concerts and a whole lot more

Tampa Riverwalk – 2.6 mile trail next to the Hillsborough River

The University of Tampa – Plant Hall Historic Hotel & my Alma mater

Armature Works – Tampa’s largest food hall

Hyde Park Village – Upscale shopping in one of Tampa’s nicest neighborhoods

Davis Islands Beach – One of a very few city beaches

Davis Islands – Island Neighborhood just south of downtown Tampa

Ballast Point Park – Great park and pier overlooking Hillsborough Bay

Bayshore Boulevard & Trail – Longest continuous sidewalk in the world at 4.5 miles
